وبعد توبيخ السفراء الإسرائيليين في لندن وباريس، ورئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي، قال بنيامين نتنياهو الاثنين ان اعتراضات أوروبا من شأنه أن لا وقف خطط البناء، وأن أولئك الذين أعربوا عن المعارضة وإذا فكرت مليا في العواقب قبل السماح للرئيس الفلسطيني، محمود عباس، كان لإحراج إسرائيل في الأمم المتحدة. 
وقال أمين مجلس الوزراء تسفي هاوزر الثلاثاء ان الاعلان عن توسيع المستوطنات الإسرائيلية جاءت ردا على محاولات الفلسطينيين لاقامة دولة فلسطينية في الأمم المتحدة من جانب واحد./
